Howdy all. Back in my youth I did some varmint hunting. It was mainly coyotes as they were both a pest and widely available as a target. If I recall correctly, the state didn't even have a limit because they were considered so disruptive to livestock, etc. Anyway, as an adult, I really haven't have had the time or inclination to bother with it. If I see them messing with our critters (e.g., chickens), I would certainly provide them with a .223 round for the trouble though. Some deer hunters I know claim it helps them keep sharp in the off-season. I am curious if there are any other coyote and/or varmint hunters on the board. Why do you hunt them? With what? Are they a danger to livestock and children in your area? Thanks much. P.S. If you never have heard one, there are few things as goofy sounding as a coyote call.
